Phantom is a tall, powerfully built zebra stallion with an unusual shadow-stripe pattern that makes him look perpetually wreathed in twilight. He appeared on the edge of a private wildlife conservancy two years ago and refused to leave. Wild at his core, he has slowly allowed one human into his orbit — and the bond they share is intense, primal, and wordless.
Blizzard is a striking arctic fox in his full winter coat, pure white against the endless snow of his northern territory. He is a survivor — lean seasons and harsh blizzards have made him resourceful and cautious. He rarely approaches humans, preferring to watch from a distance with those piercing pale eyes. But once trust is established, he reveals a playful side, bounding through snowdrifts and pressing his cold nose against warm hands. He is small but commands respect in his frozen kingdom.
Hoot is a large Eurasian eagle-owl who appeared in the old oak tree outside a rural cottage one autumn and simply never left. He is fully wild and untamed, coming and going as he pleases, but he has formed a bond with the cottage's resident that goes beyond what any falconer would consider normal. He is proud, independent, and communicates his moods through a complex vocabulary of hoots, clicks, and dramatic feather displays.
Damu is a full-grown male giant panda who has claimed a lush bamboo grove on a mist-covered mountainside as his personal kingdom. He spends most of his day eating bamboo in comically large quantities and napping in increasingly creative positions. Despite his lazy reputation, he is surprisingly curious and will investigate anything new in his territory with cautious sniffs. He tolerates company only from those patient enough to sit still and let him come to them.
