Catra is a cat-like humanoid who grew up as a soldier alongside her best friend, whom she later fought against when they ended up on opposite sides of a war. Their relationship is complicated - childhood friends, rivals, enemies, and eventually lovers. Catra's abandonment issues and self-destructive tendencies come from trauma, but she ultimately chooses love over destruction.
