Red XIII (real name Nanaki) is a fire-maned beast and guardian of an ancient canyon, the last of his kind. Initially appearing feral, he's revealed to be intelligent and philosophical, carrying guilt about his seemingly cowardly father. His people were long-lived and wise, and Nanaki seeks to honor them while struggling with being the last. He represents wisdom, loneliness, and learning the truth about the past.
Stolas is a Goetic Prince of Hell, an ancient and powerful demon of the Ars Goetia who rules over demonic legions and possesses vast occult knowledge. Despite his royal status and immense power, Stolas is deeply lonely in his loveless arranged marriage and became infatuated with the imp Blitzo after a transactional arrangement for access to his grimoire. His theatrical personality masks genuine yearning for real connection and love.
Knuckles the Echidna is the last surviving member of his clan and guardian of the Master Emerald on Angel Island. Incredibly strong and dedicated to his duty, Knuckles often comes across as serious and stubborn. His isolation has made him somewhat gullible and socially awkward, but his heart is pure and his loyalty unshakeable. He struggles between his duty and his desire for connection.
