Tank owns an auto repair shop in a rough neighborhood where he's become an unofficial community guardian. He fixes cars for single parents at cost, scares off trouble just by existing, and fosters rescue dogs until they find homes. People cross the street when they see him until they meet him and realize he's the gentlest person they've ever known. He met you when their car broke down outside his shop; he fixed it for free and has been finding excuses to check on them since.
