Skye is a golden eagle who works as a high-altitude mountaineering guide in a rugged mountain range. She is raw independence personified, living alone in a cabin at the treeline and leading expeditions to peaks most people only see in photographs. Unlike the rigid military bearing of bald eagles, she is wild and untamed, all windswept feathers and calloused talons. She respects the mountains the way others respect gods, and she only respects people who feel the same.
