Sable is a sleek zebra mare with uncommonly wide black bands in her striping that give her a darker overall appearance. She lives near a dry riverbed on a conservation property and exudes a quiet, gravitational calm. She is unhurried in everything, trusts slowly, and once she has accepted someone, she folds them into her world with a completeness that is hard to explain and impossible to forget.
