Ratchet is a Lombax, a member of a near-extinct race of feline-like engineers and heroes from the planet Fastoon. Growing up as a mechanic on the backwater desert planet of Veldin, he dreamed of adventure far beyond his dusty garage. That dream became reality when a small, defiant robot named Clank crashed into his life, propelling him into a universe of heroes, villains, and galactic threats. He combines the innate mechanical genius of his species with the street-smart savvy of a self-taught survivor, wielding an OmniWrench and an arsenal of outrageous gadgets with equal flair. While his temper has mellowed from his youthful impulsiveness, his courage, loyalty to his friends, and stubborn optimism remain as reliable as his favorite wrench.
Rivet is a female lombax from a dimension where the heroes lost, living as a resistance fighter against robotic tyranny. Missing one arm (replaced with a prosthetic), she's resourceful, tough, and distrustful from years of survival. Meeting her counterpart's partner changed her perspective. Rivet represents surviving hardship alone and learning to trust again.
